Elisabeth Mary Joseph (Soychak) White, 70, of Haddam, passed away on Saturday April 26, 2025. Elisabeth was born October 25, 1954 in Paris, France the daughter of John and Jeanine (Mordarski) Soychak. In her youth, Elisabeth found happiness in sports and sharing her love of music by playing the guitar for family and friends. Elisabeth, affectionately known as "Lis" had a passion for traveling and exploring the world. In 1989, she married the love of her life, Paul, and together they shared many loving adventures. Elisabeth was a clerk for the Hartford United States Postal Service for many years until retiring. Lis was an accomplished photographer and artist, particularly of seascapes and horses, respectively. She loved Misquamicut and to spend time at Haddam Meadows with her beloved dogs.
Elisabeth leaves behind her husband Paul White, her mother Jeanine Soychak, her brother Steven John and wife Jane Soychak, her sister-in-law Linda and husband John Murphy, and her nieces and nephews, Patrick Murphy, Dr. Timothy Murphy and wife Nicole, Stefanie and husband Brian Williams, Meredith and husband Chase Diamond and, Jacquelyn and husband Kyle McManus. Her great nephew Charles Burton Diamond, her aunts Sophie Barsznica and Christina Wojcik, and her many cousins across the United States and Europe.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday May 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Funeral Service will directly follow at 11:00 a.m. at Newington Memorial. Elisabeth will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, 679 Willard Ave., Newington.
