78, of Tampa, FL, passed away on February 20, 2021. He was born in Ayios Petros, Greece. He began his journey from his home country of Greece as a Merchant Marine. He worked as a crane operator in a steel mill while living in Vancouver, Canada. After a few years, he rejoined his brothers in Middletown Connecticut and founded the restaurant Alpha Pizza with his brother, Jimmy. Eventually, the family moved to Florida and began opening restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. As one of the original founders of ABC Pizza House, he enjoyed a long career in the restaurant industry owning his restaurant in Plant City, Florida. He had a love for the outdoors that included soccer, golf, hunting, and in his early years piloting small aircraft. His greatest joy was when he was with his family celebrating holidays, dancing, and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his father George Fotopoulos and mother Spirthoula Fotopoulos. He is survived by his daughter Spirithoula Fotopoulos and his son George Fotopoulos (Deena); his grandchildren Eleftarios Riley Phaup, Chloe Phaup, Penelope Phaup, Simon Phaup, Eleftarios Grayden Fotopoulos, Nora Fotopoulos; his siblings Vasilios "Billy" Fotopoulos, Anthony Fotopoulos, Maxine Kordimas, Demetrios Fotopoulos, Andrew Fotopoulos, Alex Fotopoulos, and Despina Fotopoulos; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will host a visitation on February 25 at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church at11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 12pm. Gravesite service to follow at Garden of Memories.
