Eleanor M. (Dee) Kaplita 94, of Southington and formerly of Monroe passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at her home. She was the wife of the late Thaddeus T. Kaplita.
She was born January 8, 1928 in NY, NY the daughter of the late Vincent and Eleanor (Luedke) Dee.
Eleanor was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and worked for the Macy's on 34th Street in New York. Eleanor was responsible for the Holy Rosary Society at St. Stephens Church in Monroe.
She is survived by her children, Paul Kaplita and wife Karen of Southbury, Timothy Kaplita of Southington, William Kaplita and wife Joanne of Wethersfield, George Kaplita and wife Barbara of Wappingeras Falls, NY, Joan Clark and husband Donald of Clinton and Stephen Kaplita and wife Kahnie; 14 grandchildren, Jillian and Emily Kaplita, Michael and Marisa Kaplita, Mary Kaplita Wolf and husband William, William Kaplita Jr. and wife Margaret, Brian Kaplita, Thomas Kaplita and wife Malka, David Kaplita, Susan Clark and husband Stephen Curtis, Ellen and Andrew Clark, Patrick and Matthew Kaplita. She also leaves three great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Abigail and Penelope.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 11th at 10 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Bridget of Sweden Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers Eleanor's family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
