A Celebration of Life service for Eleanor Whitlock Floyd will be held at four o'clock p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Jeffrey Ray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Surrounded by the love of her family, Eleanor Whitlock Floyd transitioned peacefully on March 5, 2024 at her home in Allendale, SC. Born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on February 3, 1959, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Susan Dickinson Hagan and Robert F. Dickinson. Raised in Lake City, SC by her mother and beloved stepfather, George T. (Sonny), Hagan, Jr. She thrived in her small-town upbringing before moving on to college and her adult life. Eleanor attended Columbia College and subsequently Columbia Commercial College. For many years, she worked for Bedingfield Williams Law Firm, and later Ness Motley Law Firm, in Barnwell, SC. Nature and animals were at her core; her mission in life was to rescue and love all of God's creatures.
Eleanor was married to Robert Floyd who shared her interests, together they built a home, and a life, in Allendale. Once you loved Eleanor, it was impossible to stop. Even in passing from this life, the love of her family and friends have for her will remain for eternity.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Chantsie (Karl) Pickelsimer of Barnwell, SC and their children, Edward Hagan and Jace Walker Pickelsimer; a son, Edward (Georgiana) Whitlock of Cluj-Napoca, Romania and their son, Liam Whitlock; a sister, Susan (Tom) Hickam of Surfside Beach, SC and Thomas Hagan of Atlanta, GA; her devoted aunts, Tine Culler and Julia Culler of Orangeburg; uncle, Robert Hundley (Jean) of Lexington, SC, and many well-loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
