Eldridge Rudolph Barefoot Jr passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023.
Eldridge was born on May 23, 1953. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sallie and father,
Eldridge Barefoot Sr. "Boat".
On May 4, 1990 married Ruth, where they spent 31 years happily married and started a beautiful life together. Eldridge spent over 41 years working as a Government civil servant as a civil engineer. He served as the Deputy Director of Facility Management at the Joint Special Operations Command from
February 1992 to January 2014. Highly noted as one of the youngest who received his license to become a well-known and respected North Carolina Land Surveyor. He also operated Barefoot Surveying while working full time at Fort Bragg, NC and had worked with the honorable COL Beckwith in plotting the elite unit, Delta Force. Eldridge had a love for animals. On his last adventure was coming home from feeding stray cats at the family farm. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, daughter, Tara, son-in-law, Mickey, his, grandchildren, Cole and Caroline Roberts, and his beloved dog Batman.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 31, 2013 at Devotional Gardens in Dunn, North Carolina.
