Eldora Louise Kroells, age 88 of Belle Plaine, formerly of Green Isle, died on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. Funeral service will be on Friday, October 11, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle, MN. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Lunch will follow in the church social hall then burial at 1:00 p.m. in Arlington Public Cemetery.
Eldora was born on January 31, 1936, to Al and Alma (Beckendorf) Cyphers in Jo Daviess Township, Faribault County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, MN. She started school at East Chain Consolidated School in Martin County, MN. When she was in fifth grade the family moved to Faribault County where she attended Blue Earth Schools and graduated in 1954. She attended Mankato Commercial College with a degree in business machines and accounting. She worked in a couple of business jobs and lived at home while helping her father with the family farm. She loved horses and rode a lot on the farm, shows and parades. She married Roger Kroells at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mankato of October 10, 1959. They lived, worked and raised their children on a farm near Green Isle, MN. She also worked part time at Big Stone Canning and helped her husband with all the farm work 24 hours a day. Roger died October 12, 2002, and two years later she bought a house in Green Isle and continued to help her son on the farm. Eldora was active all her married life in the church choir and was on the church council for several years and served a president of the council for a short time.
Eldora is survived by her children; Sherrylynn Mortensen of Waconia, MN and Darren (Ursula) Kroells of Green Isler, MN. Grandchildren; Ryan Mortensen and special friend, Jennifer Petrie, Amada Mortensen and her special friend Nathan Brown, Crystal (Joshua) De Kam, Kristine (Rieley) Swier, Michelle (Greggory Jr.) Michaels and Nicole (Ryan Bertram) Kroells-Bertram. Great-grandchildren, Hailey, Isaiah, Erika, Oliver, Leaha, Orah, Eliza, Noah, Amilia, Luther and Ursula.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger, siblings; Howard, Rudy, Alvin, Jerome and sister Lenou and many in-laws, relatives and friends.
