Elda Mae (Eldie) Michaelis, 90, of Rollingstone, MN, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019 at her home.
Eldie was born May 28, 1929, to Henry and Alvina (Holst) Miller, in rural Plainview, MN. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Plainview, on June 16, 1929, and was confirmed there on March 29, 1942. Her confirmation verses were Psalm 145:18-19.
Elda and William Junior Michaelis were married June 10, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, (Silo), Lewiston, MN. Bill passed away on September 4, 2009. Bill and Eldie lived their entire married life in Norton Township, rural Rollingstone, where they raised their seven children: Roy (Carol), Rollingstone; Dan (Dottie), Winona; Ben, Rollingstone; Laurie Kennedy, Altura; Linda (Steve) Pierce, Lewiston; Joe (Janet), Blue Earth; and Jean (Jeff) Geib of Rochester; 15 grandchildren: Carri, Andy (Julie) and Justin Michaelis, Anthony (Lindsay) Michaelis and Ashley (Scott) Trogstad, Lee and Cameron Kennedy, Jenny, Paul (Fei), and Tyler Pierce, Derek, Emily, Joel, and Abbey Michaelis, and Kylie Geib; 13 great-grandchildren: Taylor and Tate Michaelis, Charli, Tynlee, Berklee, and Raylee Michaelis, Tucker, Milo, and Greyson Trogstad, and Connor, Raeana, Rylee, and Cole Kennedy. Eldie was also preceded in death by an infant son, Samuel, granddaughter Shelby Pierce, her parents, and all her siblings, Milton, Charles, Luetta Stevens, Ellen Lowther, Elaine Trogstad, and Doreen Ressie.
Eldie enjoyed camping, the outdoors, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her strong faith and Christian example.
Visitation will be held at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church - Silo, 22591 County Road 25, rural Lewiston, MN, on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 4 PM until 7 PM, and again on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, from 10:30 AM until the funeral service at 11:30 AM. The Reverend William Meilner will officiate. Eldie's earthly remains will be laid to rest in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery awaiting the final summons of her Lord for the resurrection to eternal life.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or School.
