Elaine M. Vosit, loving wife, mother, sister, and nana, passed away on the evening of July 27, 2021, in her hometown of Lenox, Massachusetts surrounded by family.
Elaine was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on April 16, 1945, to her parents Dr. Alfred J. Ferris (aka Papa Doc) and Amy Ferris. She grew up alongside her two brothers, Dr Alfred J. Ferris -- married to Dianne Ferris -- Dr. James J. Ferris -- married to Babetta Ferris -- and her late sister Julie A. Ferris. While attending Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she met her lifelong husband of 56 years, Atty. Joseph G. Vosit. On February 7, 1965, they got married in Naperville, Illinois.
After moving back to Berkshire County, Elaine worked alongside her husband for his entire legal career. Together, they raised their two beautiful daughters Dr. Julie V. Steller and Atty. Amy E. Winston in Lenox, Massachusetts.
Dr. Julie V. Steller and Dr. Michael A. Steller have three sons -- Graeme, Ian, and Davis. Atty. Amy E. Winston has five children -- Joseph, Katherine, Sarah, Homer, and Elliot. Elaine is survived by all of her grandchildren, her brothers, her daughters, and her husband. Her love will continue to connect them all.
Devoted wife, mother, sister, and nana. Dog lover of her beloved Nutmeg and Gus. Compassionate, loving, and kind. She used to love to sing and spend time with her family.
We will feel her in everything we do, carry her wherever we go, hear her in every song we sing.
Although she may no longer have to wish upon a star, she taught us all how to. And no matter what happens, we will never stop, not until we're up there with her, living, forever, in that bright, beautiful place somewhere, over the rainbow.
