Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine Ortigo, 86, of Logan will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Freeman and Rev. Glen Ketchum officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Georgia Elaine Baker Ortigo was born June 1, 1935 in the Galloway Community of Panola County, Texas. She passed this life July 4, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Elaine was the 14th of 15 children born to the marriage of Ezeakiel "Zeke" and Rozie Alma Baker. She was raised and schooled in Galloway and Logansport. Elaine worked at the Waskom Caf? where she met Huey P. Ortigo, they married June 3, 1954 and spent almost 66 years together and had five children.
Mrs. Ortigo worked as an Avon Lady, owned "Elaine's Malt Shop" and worked for Jordan Health Services. She was a lifelong member of the Logan Assembly of God, where she hosted church events, missionaries, and much more using her home as the fellowship hall. Elaine loved sewing, quilting, cooking and canning. Her biscuits and gravy were world famous. She was a loving mother to her family and church family. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Huey Ortigo; and all 14 of her siblings.
Mrs. Ortigo is survived by her loving children, Randy Ortigo and wife Diane of Tyler, Ronney Ortigo and wife Jeanette of Longview, Robert Ortigo and wife Anne of Logan, Judith Elaine Elliott and husband Scottie of Logan, Rodney Ortigo and wife Marjorie of Elm Mott; grandchildren, Lydia Ortigo, Kerry Pace, Elizabeth Hansen, Jake Ortigo, Bridget Ortigo, Robert Ortigo Jr., John Ortigo, Lisa Roberts, Destini Cannady, Tyler Ortigo, Andrew Elliott, Joseph Elliott, Timothy Elliott, and Caleb Elliott; twenty great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
