Portsmouth, NH - Elaine J. Langer (Lurvey), 56, wife of Ralph A. Langer of Portsmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at her home.
She was born on November 15, 1965 in Lynn, Massachusetts to Frank M. Lurvey and Marilyn J. (Newton) Myott. Elaine was a graduate of Lynn English High School in 1984 and then received her Bachelors degree from Franklin Pierce College and then her Masters in Education from Plymouth State University in 2006.
Elaine was currently employed as a reading specialist for the City of Dover School District at the Garrison Elementary School.
Her larger than life personality and laugh and presence always put a smile on everyone's face. She loved teaching her children, gardening, traveling, and photography. Elaine loved summers at the family camp in Bar Harbor, Maine. What was most important to her, was family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank M. Lurvey.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Ralph A. Langer; their children, Jessica Langer (Paul Connor) of Nashua, and Samuel Langer of Portsmouth; her mother, Marilyn Myott of Lynn, MA; her stepsons Michael Langer (Karla Langer) and 3 grandchildren, Devin, Jacob, and Henry Langer all of Maryland; Christopher Langer of Alton Bay, NH; a brother, Frank Lurvey (Cathy) of Salem, MA; two sisters, Debra Carey (Richard) of Lynn, MA, and Amanda Lurvey of Boxford, MA; uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and her dog, Morgan.
Services: A Celebration of Elaine's Life will be held on Saturday, Apr 16th, starting at noon at the family home (Outdoors) at 30 Marjorie Street, Portsmouth.
