Elaine Coxworth, 84, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, died peacefully at Hearthstone Personal Care Community on Sunday, February 6th, 2022. She was born December 20th, 1937, in Watseka, IL, to Walter & Ester Johnson. She is survived by her husband, David Ross Coxworth, and her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Doug & Kerry Coxworth, Dean & Kathy Coxworth, Darryl & Lisa Coxworth, and her brother Walter Johnson Jr. Elaine has seven grandchildren: Cameron & Cody Adler, Travis Coxworth, Alex Coxworth, Madison Coxworth, Blake Coxworth, Caroline Coxworth, and Caitlin Coxworth. Elaine's passion was a deep love and support of family, friends, and her Christian beliefs. She never met a stranger and was always up for a social gathering. Photos had to be taken to remember every moment. She met her husband while he was serving in the armed forces. For 63 years she was always by his side and celebrated special occasions. She loved to support her sons and grandchildren in all sports and every special occasion no matter how insignificant. Her contagious laughter and sense of humor entertained all. Among Elaine's accomplishments, she taught Kindergarten, was a church Pianist, and an active Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Sister. She enjoyed cooking, playing the piano, playing cards, and activities with her church and sorority friends. She volunteered her time playing the piano and helping residents at Grace Arbor. In her final years, her health became an issue. She stayed positive and hopeful. The amazing strength in her perseverance to continue fighting inspired all who knew her well. Services celebrating her life will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, GA. Visitation will begin at 12pm, followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm.
