Aiken - Eileen Regina Chisari passed away on July 21, 2022, in Aiken, SC surrounded by her loving family after battling a rare cancer.
Born in Philadelphia on July 19, 1953, Eileen was a first generation American and only child of the late Joseph and Anna McClinton Chisari. She is a proud alumnus of Thomas Jefferson University and Duquesne University. She holds a diploma, bachelors and two masters degrees in Nursing, Health Services and Education. In pursuit of her lifelong passion for helping others, Eileen was a devoted registered nurse and healthcare administrator, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President at St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children in Bayside, NY. Professionally, she is known and respected for her innovative approach and advocacy for children suffering life-limiting illnesses and palliative care for children at end-of-life.
After a 40-year career in healthcare serving those in need, Eileen relocated from New York City to Aiken, South Carolina to be near family. Grandchildren, cross-stitch and religion were the joys of her retirement. She spent her free time volunteering, engaging in community cultural events and served as president of the Aiken Stitchin’ Belles.
Eileen is survived by her two daughters (and their husbands), Meghan Jones (Todd Jones) and Laura Martín (Gabe Martín) and three grandchildren: Philip Belcher, Charles Martín and Anna Martín.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 25, 2022, at the Old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Park Ave. A private inurnment will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
