Edgefield, SC- Effie Lee Talbert, 92, of 67 Bartley Road, widow of Lloyd Felton Talbert, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Piedmont. Born in Edgefield she was the daughter of the late Elijah Brown and the late Dora Mazkie. She was a member of Lower Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where she was the "Mother of the Church", Deaconess, and a member of the Senior Choir.
She leaves to cherish her memories for sons, Albert Talbert of Edgefield, Johnny (Anita) Talbert of Greenville, SC, Ervin (Cornelia) Talbert of Edgefield, and Bernard (Gail) Talbert of Greenwood; three daughters, Lolitha Brown and Dorothea Adam's both of Edgefield, and Levone (Caleb) Griffin of Trenton, SC; one brother, Whit (Martha) Lee Brown of Plum Branch; two sisters, Inez Gaskins Parks of Ninety-six and Mary (Henry) Corvin of New York; twenty-three grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Jeanette Talbert of Edgefield; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Monday, July 1st, 2019 at Lower Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. LaVictor Talbert. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of 67 Bratley Road, Edgefield, SC. Online condolences may be sent to [email protected].
