On June 1st, 2022, in the embrace of his loving wife of 51 years, and his brother and nephew, Edwin J. Trader departed this world to enter eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Heaven gained a true servant.
A simple man with a big heart, Edwin loved abundantly -his wife; his church; his family and his work. It was a fateful wedding of mutual friends where he met the love of his life and grew a relationship from a distance. Edwin and Sylvia wed just three short months later, on May 15, 1971. They shared a love for God and church, enjoyed traveling through the years to visit her hometown of New Orleans and maintained a treasured friendship with the couple whose wedding brought them together.
A 1962 graduate of Wicomico High School, Edwin committed many years to working as a foundational and integral part of the family’s business, “E.J. Trader and Sons”, in Salisbury. He spent his spare time working as an auxiliary police officer and took pleasure in helping his community. Edwin’s passion for electronics and interest in media technology later opened the door to enjoy a 29-year career with WBOC as a multi-media technician; where he further developed his skill and education to eventually own and operate his own business, “Video Multi-Media”, an A/V rentals company serving medical facilities and businesses across the local region.
The memory of Edwin and his endearing smile will forever live on in the hearts of his surviving family & friends; his wife, Sylvia S. Trader; his brother, Elwood J. Trader, and his sons and family; his sister, Lois Harris, and her sons, daughters and family; his brother-in-law, Ray Cunningham, and his family; his brother-in-law, Clifford L. Sherlock, and the church he has served and loved for a lifetime, Parkway Church of God, Salisbury, MD. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood James Trader and Dolores Pearl Charnick, and his long-time special friend, Frank Herzins.
