Edward Stemac, 86, of Burnet, Texas passed away June 4, 2022. He was born to Charles and Julia (Bosnic) Stemac on September 9, 1935, in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Edward attended elementary school in Blytheville and high school at Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis, Mo. He went to college at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, on a baseball scholarship. Edward was inducted into STMU Sports Hall of Fame in 1989, he then played a year of pro baseball on the Chicago Cubs rookie league team, The Carlsbad Potashers. He then moved to Dallas where he started his career working for Texas Instruments. He started as a line supervisor and later was a trainer and inventory control specialist. Edward was with TI for over 30 years.
He loved church and was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Horseshoe Bay for over 20 years. Edward also loved family, sports, especially the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Mavericks, golf and any Arkansas Razorback sporting event. He was a terrible fisherman but loved trying.
Edward is survived by his wife Sally (Schiwetz) of 57 years; children, Laura Stemac of Lago Vista, Steve Stemac and wife Kellee of Plano, Ken Stemac and wife Liz of Houston. Four grandchildren, Garrett McDonald USMC Camp Pendleton, CA., Camryn McDonald of Plano, and Sloan and Kiera Stemac of Houston. He is also survived by multiple nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and is beloved cats Sophia, and Dublin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers William (Bill) and Monsignor Louis Stemac and sisters Marion Kneas and Zaida Stemac.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Horseshoe Bay, Saturday June 11, 2022, at 1:00 P.M.
