Edward R. Stein passed away at his home in Southampton on Sunday Aug. 29, 2021. Edward was born in Holyoke, the son of the late Max and Ida (Rosolinsky) Stein. Ed was predeceased by his brother Norman. Ed was educated locally and at the Monson Academy. Ed was an honorably discharged, Vietnam Era, US Army veteran, who served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, in which he was part of a rapid deployment force that had boarded landing craft for the invasion of Cuba until it was ultimately called off. Edward ran a successful business for many years rebuilding Model T Fords engines and transmissions. Customers from all over the world and the US, sent their engines to Ed to rebuild. Often Ed's engines were prominently noted in many Model T's in various automotive publications. Ed was a master Mason and a member of the MT. Tom Lodge for 59 years and a proud member of the NRA. Edward Leaves his sister Ruth Sanofsky of Hartford CT. and her children. A grave side services will be held Friday 11AM at the Center Cemetery in Southampton.
