Edward Lloyd Pattillo, age 74, of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully, September 9, 2021. Beloved son, brother and uncle, Edward, will be remembered for his devotion to family, his quick wit and good conversation
Edward was born on November 25, 1946 in Atlanta, GA to the late Lovick Thomas Pattillo and Mary Winn Pattillo. A native Atlantan, Edward attended Hammond Elementary School and Sandy Springs High School. In 1967, Edward joined the United States Marine Corp. Following his brief military service, Edward worked for Atlantic Steel Company, where he worked as a metal worker for over twenty five years. Edward also received a degree from North Metro Technical Institute in Automotive Technology.
Edward had a deep love of family and friends. He enjoyed watching football on weekends or just hanging out with his buddies at the local watering hole. Edward was a world traveler; he was self-educated and profoundly well-read. He had a deep appreciation for both classical music and historical literature.
Edward was extremely proud of his Georgia roots that date back to the late 1700's. His Georgia lineage on both mother and father's side has an impressive list of well-known and respected citizens of the state.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his two beloved sisters, Mary Pattillo Zacharias and Nancy Pattillo Riley. He is survived by his two brothers in law, William Riley and Michael Zacharias; nieces and nephews, Mary Hartley (Jimmy), Jenny Ranson (Otis), Bob Riley (Lisa), Sally Riley, David Riley (Angie); and many grandnieces and grandnephews and their children. Edward is also survived by the numerous people he met in the course of his lifetime that he considered family more so that friends.
