Edward Anthony Paska (Ed), passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on June 4, 2024 at his home in Chantilly, Virginia after battling Stage IV cancer for the last 7 years.
Ed was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to Michael and Stella Paska on January 16, 1959. He went to Saint Mary's High School and graduated in 1977. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and throughout his career, managed construction projects across the East coast, Texas, and Puerto Rico. Ed married Maria, the love of his life, on June 26, 1983 and they dedicated their marriage to building a family based around love and togetherness.
Ed's life was full of cherished moments with his family and friends. At a young age he grew his love for the outdoors with hiking and camping trips across the Appalachian Mountains - a love he passed along to his children and grandchildren. Family celebrations throughout the years were full of Polish traditions and foods that will be passed down to future generations. He loved problem solving and taking on new projects by building (or fixing) anything his children or grandchildren could dream up.
Ed was a devoted and loving family man and is survived by his wife, Maria Paska of 41 years; his two daughters Rebecca Paska of Reston, Virginia, and Kimberly Negro and her husband Michael of Herndon, Virginia; and three sons Steven Paska and his wife Jessica of Arlington, Virginia, Jeffrey Paska of Chantilly, Virginia and Benjamin Paska of Nashville, Tennessee. Ed also leaves behind his cherished seven grandchildren: Deegan, Luke, Vivienne, Troy, Isaac, Brooke, and Reed. Ed is also survived by his sister, Christine Galica and her husband Michael of Holden, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews. Ed is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Stella Paska of Worcester, Massachusetts and his brother Michael Paska of Annandale, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at Adams and Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Virginia on Sunday June 9th with Visitation at 2:00 p.m. and a Christian Service at 3:00 p.m. Before passing, Ed asked for donations to be made to the American Cancer Foundation to help others in their time of need.
