Edward Paradise, 92, of Bristol CT, passed away quietly on February 15, 2021 at Farmington CT. He was the widower of Elizabeth (Bough) Paradise of Bristol CT, who predeceased him in 2008 after 57 years of marriage. He is predeceased by his seven older brothers and sisters. Edward was born in Amherst, MA to Frank and Mary (Steponik) Paradise (originally Paradycz) on July 11, 1928. In 1946 he joined the U.S. Army, served in the Japan Occupation Forces as a Corporal and received the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He had a career as a skilled machinist and was also employed at the University of Hartford College of Engineering as resident machinist. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Forestville CT and was a lifelong member of the Masons and Eastern Star. His hobbies included fishing and woodworking. Edward is survived by his 5 children, William and Deborah Paradise of Amherst NH, Michael and Donna Paradise of Fayetteville GA, Richard Paradise of Fiskdale MA, Brian and Sharon (Paradise) of Oviedo FL, and Bruce and Dirina Paradise of West Hartford CT. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. A private family funeral will be held at Dupont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol CT on Friday February 19, 2021. The internment will immediately follow at Peacedale Cemetery, 115 James P. Casey Road, Bristol CT. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Edwards name to the American Cancer Society in Connecticut.
