Edward D. Paradine, age 86; a Bayonne resident his entire life, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Edward attended St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Grammar School and St. Peter's All Boys High School in Staten Island. He volunteered for the Army at the age of 18 and served two years during the Korean War. Edward was a longtime truck route owner for Thumann's Provisions. After retiring, he drove the bus for the BEOF, volunteered serving the seniors at the holidays, and also delivered for Meals On Wheels for 19 years. Edward served as Commander in Chief of the Korean War Veterans of Hudson County for a few years and their Treasurer for 15 years. He was often referred to as "Fast Eddie" from his pitching days with the Bayonne Brotherhood Softball League for many years. He was married to Barbara (Nee:Laffey) "His Babs" for 36 years before she passed away in 1996. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his Daughter Kelly Jakubowski {Alfred}, Grandsons Matthew & David, son Sean Paradine, Grandsons Shane & Aidan (along with their Mom Clementina), and Sean's Wife Heroo and her Daughters Celina & Anika. Edward was the Son of the late Florence (Nee:O'Brien) and Edward Paradine. His siblings referred to him as "Sonny". They are Brother Raymond "Buddy" Paradine and Sister Dorothy "Dot" Fallon. Waiting to greet him in Heaven were Sisters Florence "Honey" Natoli, Pat Melton, and Brother Billy Paradine. Edward always had a hardy laugh and a great smile. He leaves behind many great friends, loving Nieces & Nephews, Cousins, and his 'Zito Building Crew of Residents" – where he lived. The Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 31st from 3 – 7 PM at the G. Keenen O'Brien Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 1st at 10 AM at St. Vincent's Church, Bayonne. Interment to follow, Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
