Edward "Wayne" Martin, 74 of Lubbock went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 14, 2020. Wayne was born in Crosbyton on September 25, 1946 to Edward Myers and Beatrice Carr Martin.
Wayne grew up in Cone, TX and went to Floydada High School where he met his high school sweetheart Ronda Warren. Wayne joined the Army in 1964 to serve during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Wayne was a K9 officer for the City of Lubbock from 1967 to 1999 and loved working with his police dogs and fellow officers. He and Ronda loved riding motorcycles until his illness. He also loved hunting, fishing, and watching old westerns.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Brandy Marley.
Wayne is survived by his wife Ronda, his sons; Daniel and Amanda Martin, Michael and Kalyn Martin, his stepchildren; Chuck Rowley, Crystal Hudgens and Dawn West, his sister Carolyn Goins, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for December 27th, 2020 at the Ralls Cemetery Chapel in Ralls, Texas at 1:00pm with Dr. Kelly Warren Officiating the ceremony. Due to Covid restrictions family and friends are asked to follow social distancing.
The Family would like to thank Hospice of Lubbock, Angels Arms, and also a special thank you to his nurse Jody who lovingly cared for Wayne and Elizabeth Abraham for all of her help and comfort.
