Edward "Ed" Paul Hornyak Jr., age 81, of Euharlee, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was born in Macon, GA to the late Edward Paul Hornyak Sr. and Violet Poland Hornyak.
Ed is preceded in death by his mother & father, Violet and Eddie, Sr., his brother, Steven Hornyak and his son, Jeff Hornyak. He is survived by his long-time life partner Karen Lawder; daughter, Candy (Wendell) Hall; sister, Paula Codgen; brother, Michael Hornyak; grandchildren, Steven Hornyak (James), Chris (Madison) Hall, April (Jessie) Rustin; great-grandchild, Sammy Rustin; and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Ed devoted his life to his community. For many years he worked with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service as a County Agent for Crisp County. He later went on to retire from the Bartow County Extension Service as the Bartow County Extension Coordinator.
Outside of work Ed still loved working with the land. He spent much of his time with his plants and growing all sorts of things as a master gardener. Not only did he care for his garden, but he also loved all of his dogs having rescued dozens of them over the last 30+ years.
Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation on January 15th from eleven until twelve o'clock at the Bartow County Extension Building Auditorium, 320 W Cherokee Ave #112, Cartersville, GA 30120.
A memorial service will be conducted immediately following the visitation. Light refreshments will be provided.
