Donald F. Mello, age 77, died peacefully at the Oceanside Center in Hampton, NH, on Sat., Feb.6, 2021, after complications of pneumonia.
Don was born August 19, 1943, in Lowell, Mass. He was the son of the late Frank Mello and Mildred (Joyce) Mello. Prior to his retirement he worked at The Carpet Center In Nashua, NH, and owned Don's Carpet Center in Dracut, Ma., in the late 70's.
Don was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his long-time friend and brother-in-law, Ernie Lanoue.
He loved to camp at Lake Ossipee and Squam Lake in NH, and Sebago Lake in Maine. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and snowmobiling. Don was a big fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots and never missed a game.
A very creative man, he had many talents: woodworking, stained glass, and loved to cook. His specialties were Lobster Bisque and Cream Puffs.
Don is survived by his daughter Deborah J. KIlbride and her partner Paul Husson, a son, Donald E Mello. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Shannon Kilbride and her partner John Beebe, Carley Mello and her fiance Richie Mathes, and Eric Mello, and a great- grandchild, Liana Mello.
He leaves behind 2 brothers: Dave Mello and his partner Anne Winn, and Mike Mello, a sister Jeanne and her husband Tom Gardner.
Also, a very special Aunt, Claire Breton, and many nieces and nephews, as well as his former wife Lillian ("Cookie) Tanguay Mello.
