Edward "Eddie" Franklin Tennyson, age 85, of Sweetwater, Tennessee passed away on January 26, 2021, surrounded by his children. He was born to parents James Robert "Pete" and Ellen on August 7, 1935, in Sweetwater, served in the Army from 1958-1960 and retired from Bowater (now Resolute). Eddie enjoyed cooking, yard work, music, and his pets. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, was a skilled piano player and played the piano and other instruments into his senior years.
Eddie is preceded in death by both his parents, brother, William Robert "Bob", and wife, Emma Lee. He is survived by his son, Edward Jr. "Scotty", of Sweetwater and daughters, Lydia, of Knoxville, Lisa, of Cleveland and Lori, of Knoxville. In addition to his children, Eddie is survived by his sisters-in-law, Dr. Janet Keener and Mary L. Tennyson, nieces, nephews, and their children.
A graveside service will be held in the Sweetwater Memorial Park on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 2PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater or the Monroe County Friends of Animals. Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater in charge of arrangements.
