Edward F. Davis, 66, of Woodbridge, VA passed away on February 12, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Edward F. Davis (Ed) was born on January 6,1956 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Edward F. Davis and Esther Faith Gretz. He graduated from Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, PA in the class of 1973. Ed married the love of his life, Theresa (Nace) Davis, on August 16, 1975 and enjoyed 46 years of marriage. Together they raised three beautiful daughters. Ed served in the U.S. Army for 9 years as a multichannel and tactical communications systems operator. He was awarded with the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Army Achievement Medal. In 2016, Ed retired from the US Treasury Department where he received the distinguished Albert Gallatin Award for his years of Federal Service. During his long successful career in communications, he also worked for US Customs and Visa.
Ed's life was full of love, laughter, and family. His favorite pastimes included boating, cooking, football, motorcycles, music and shooting pool at the American Legion where he served as team captain. Ed was recognized as one of the top shooters in the league. If everyone was enjoying themselves, Ed was happy.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Theresa; his daughters, Christine (Juan) Vela, Loryn Davis, and Shannon (Carlos Morales) Davis; his grandchildren; Manny, Eddie, Lilliana and Madelyn; his siblings, twin brother, Eugene (Jennifer) Davis, and sister, Cathy Davis. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Patricia Waters.
Visitation hours are from 5-8pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, VA 22193. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 14160 Ferndale Road, Woodbridge, VA 22193. Following the funeral, Edward F. Davis will be laid to rest with military honors at Quantico National Cemetery.
