Edward D. Chentnik, II, 70, of Rome, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in New Hartford on February 28, 1950, a son of the late Edward D. and Coleita "Tootsie" Chentnik. He was a graduate of Whitesboro High and earned a Master's Degree from Syracuse University.
Ed worked for the Rome Police Department and later owned and operated Heck Realty in Rome. He was a member of the Ski Patrol at Woods Valley for over 30 years. Through the years he enjoyed his cottage in Montauk, Long Island, his parents camp in Sylvan Beach, boating on Lake Delta, pool parties at the family home in Northwood Circle and frequenting the Elks Club and Polish Home.
He is survived by three sons, Edward III, Justin and Benjamin; a sister, Barbara Volz (Jerry); one grandson, E J; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Courtney New; and his first wife, Cynthia (Coleman) Chentnik.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Interment will take place in Rome Cemetery.
