On August 4, 2021, Edward R. Cabral Jr. (Eddie) of Oxnard, CA passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
Eddie was born on June 18, 1959, to Edward and Ofelia Cabral in Oxnard, CA and was the eldest of three children, sister Nancy Murrieta and brother Richard Cabral. Eddie was 62 years old and is survived by his wife Bertha and three children, Crystal, Albert, and Daniel Cabral. Eddie had eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Eddie's love for his family was unparalleled and he found great joy in being a grandfather. All the life lessons, wisdom, and jokes will be greatly missed by all his grandchildren.
Since he was a young boy, Eddie was a car enthusiast. As his love for classic cars grew, he joined the Viejitos Car Club. Eddie was involved in coordinating car shows for the club and quickly realized that it was not just about the cars. Eddie knew he wanted to be involved in the community and help build something bigger. Partnering with the Oxnard Police Department and with the help of other car club members, they coordinated an Annual Cruise Night in Downtown Oxnard. Vendors, restaurants, and musicians all joined in celebrating the vision Eddie had; building community, blending cultures, bringing joy and sharing his passion for classic cars.
Eddie was known for his graceful presence and positive energy that he shared with everyone he encountered. The impact he made on everyone will forever be imprinted on all our hearts.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during this difficult time. To commemorate Eddie, we will be reciting the Rosary on Thursday, August 19th from 1:30-2:30pm (Visitation will be from 1:00pm-3:30pm) at Santa Clara Cemetery.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 20th at 10:00am at Santa Clara Church. Burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
