Edward T. April, Jr., 80 1941 - 2022 Palm Bay - Edward T. April, Jr. of St. Cloud, FL passed away peacefully after a brief illness on May 14, 2022 in hospice. He was the beloved husband of the late Susan April, nee Christopher, the love of his life for 43 years. Ed was born in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn English High School Class of 1959. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1960 and served proudly for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer having served his country as a specialized communications radioman, completing several important assignments around the globe, including time spent at the Pentagon and serving in Vietnam. After military retirement Ed and his wife split their time between New London, CT and St. Cloud, FL for many years. He stayed busy as a contractor, municipal employee and being a helpful handyman in the neighborhood. As an avid fan Ed enjoyed the horses and was able to catch his last Kentucky Derby from the hospital. He was loved by all for his cheerful kindness and kept us laughing with his witty one liners right up until the end. Ed leaves behind brothers Robert and Pete April of Amesbury and Lynn, MA, a stepson and daughter-in-law John and Lynn Bodnar and family of Mystic, CT, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and good neighbors. Service Information: As Ed preferred no fanfare in life, at his request there will be no services and his ashes spread in a desired location in Connecticut.
