Edna M. Turner, 84, of Columbus passed from this life on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 9:38 a.m. at her home.
Mrs. Turner was born on October 24, 1937, in Azalia, Indiana the daughter of Charles B. and Bessie Jefferies Purdue. On May 5, 1958, she married Clyde "Buddy" Turner Jr.
Mrs. Turner was a custodian for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation for 30 years and was a faithful member of 6th Street Baptist Church. She loved going to church and enjoyed her two dogs, Chloe and Mitzy.
Survivors include her sons, Timothy (Gina) Turner, Terry Turner, and Ted Turner all of Columbus; grandchildren, Kelly (Jeremy) Wilson, Corey (Jen) Turner, Heather Turner, Evan Turner, Tara Turner, Kyra Turner; and great grandchildren, Kensington and Reece Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde "Buddy" Turner Jr on November 4, 2009; son, Tom Turner; and siblings, James Purdue, Tom Purdue, Bill Purdue, Gladys Grimes, and Bessie Bowman.
The funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Reverend Don Hacker officiating. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at www.barkesweaverglick.com.
Family and friends may call for visitation from 10:00 a.m. till time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at New Harmony Cemetery.
In memory of Mrs. Turner memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to the 6th Street Baptist Church.
