Mrs. Edna Britton David, 91, widow of George L. David, died Monday April 4, 2022, at her residence.
Mrs. David was born September 22, 1930, in Lane, SC, a daughter of the late Joseph Sylvanus Britton and Alice Edna Bryan Britton. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and retired from Suburban Propane Co. after 35 years. Over the years, she decorated for and directed numerous weddings for her family and local brides. Mrs. David was an active member of Union Presbyterian Church in Salters where she taught Sunday school, served on the WIC board and on many state Presbytery councils. She was a member of the Garden Makers Garden Club. She 'boondoggled" with her husband for many trips around the U.S., many trips a surprise.
Surviving are: her daughters, Cathy (Pete) Jones, Leslee ( Bunny) Spivey, both of Salters, SC, and Melanie (Lyn) Bodie, of Pawleys Island, SC; her grandchildren, Rob D. Jones, Mary Grace McGee, Lonnie Jones, Catherine (Chip) Brown, and Kirklyn Bodie; her great grandchildren, Katie McGee, Lizzy McGee and Gray Brown and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. David was preceded in death by her sisters, Joan Street and Betty Burgess and her brother J.D. Britton.
The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Williamsburg Funereal Home.
Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Wednesday in Union Presbyterian Church with Rev. Marty Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
