This is my father. My first mentor, a great teacher and dad. He worked a lot when we were younger. And I suppose he had too, with eleven children and a wife. Daddy was a former share-cropper. The story goes that the year I was born (1959), the family left the farm (Camp McCain Military Post Area) and moved to "town". Daddy taught me a lot of things including how to be a man, a son, a husband and a father. He gave me my first hair cut as he was a barber as well. He taught me how to landscape, how to fish and how can I forget how to pick pears for preserves. Daddy, loved watermelon and almost every kind of vegetable. He loved his quiet time alone.
