Edith Elizabeth Howard, 89, of Reisterstown, Maryland, fell asleep in death on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Maryland. Edith had a full and well-livedlife. She was born on November 15, 1931 in Frederick County, Maryland. She was the ninth child out of fourteen of the late Walter G. Johnson Warfield and Henrietta Isabella Warfield. Despite having a limited secular education, Edith was a loving accomplished wife and mother, talented hairstylist with a home-based business, home economist and domestic engineer. Edith learned to read by reading the greatest book ever written, God's Word the Bible. Edith's reading of the Holy Scriptures provided her with the utmost education. In turn, she encouraged her children to study the Bible. Edith was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1972. She served faithfully for many years and was a current member of the East Reisterstown Congregation in Reisterstown, Maryland. Edith married her husband of 51 years on April 14, 1949, and raised their twelve children in Union Bridge, Maryland. They coached and supported their children in everything they did and instilled in them a strong work ethic, a strong sense of family, and the importance of a personal relationship with Jehovah God. Edith was well loved and respected by all those who met her. She never met a stranger. Her sense of family extended well beyond the walls of her home. She made an impact on so many people's lives with her infectious smile and her love of laughter. She raised her family on homegrown organic food and decorated their table with all homemade meals. In addition to her love for her family and studying the Bible, she also loved to host yard sales and play card games. Edith was genuinely adored, and she will be sincerely missed. Edith was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Hoover Howard, Sr., daughter Doris Howard-Riley, parents Walter and Henrietta Warfield, siblings Annie Simms, Walter Warfield, Jr., Earnest Warfield, Nelson Warfield, Thelma Woodyard, Maybelle Johnson, Minniearl Richardson, Bessie Smith, Patricia Lane, son-in-law David Tate, granddaughter Kristina Bradford and great-granddaughter Christian Harley. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children; Diane Tate, Dorthea Bracken, Dyneice Howard, Herbert Howard, Jr. (daughter-in-law Nicky), Gary Howard (daughter-in-law Augustina), Donna McLemore (son-in-law Sean), Deanna Sagala (son-in-law Duane), George Howard, Jacqueline Howard, Kimberly Harrell (son-in-law Jim), and David Howard. She also leaves surviving sisters Mildred Stamball of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and Mary Evelyn Alexander of Boston, Massachusetts.
