Help us celebrate Edith! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Edith.
Edith Aileen Frost nee Seymour was born in Calgary, Alberta. She passed away in Burlington, Washington.
Aileen relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia at age 13 when her family moved next door to her future husband, Paul Frost. She lived there until graduating from the University of British Columbia. She and Paul were married in Toronto, Ontario in 1945. A few years later, they emigrated to Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania. They began a family and eventually settled in Camas, Washington, where they raised their family and lived for 50 years. Aileen made many friends there while volunteering in the public schools and library.
Survivors include her sons, Jim and Ken; daughter, Martha Rhodes; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Zachary Blumberg, Colin and Stuart Rhodes, and David Frost; and in-laws - Jeffrey, Diana and Scott; all of whom miss her greatly. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, sister Audrey and daughter D. Eleanor Blumberg.
Aileen's life was brightened by her family, many good friends, reading, hiking, travel, playing games such as Scrabble and cribbage and playing Bridge, which she was able to play quite capably until Covid restrictions closed most social gatherings. She spent her last weeks receiving visits from friends and relatives before slipping away, a time for which we are all thankful. She was able to enjoy chocolate and maintained her sense of humor right up to the end.
Due to pandemic restrictions and Aileen outliving her close friends, no services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the Casey Eye Institute for Macular Degeneration or the Camas Public Library.
