Eudelia Herrera Vale, 83, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Solara Specialty Hospitals in McAllen, Texas. She was born on a Monday, August 8, 1938 in San Juan, Texas to Reynaldo Herrera and Sofia DeLeon Herrera. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Jose Joseph Vale Jr., brothers; Gumaro Herrera and Ezequiel Herrera and brother-in-law; Evaristo De La Cruz.
Eudelia is survived by her loving children; Darlene Vale, Joel Joseph (Cathy) Vale, and Eunice Vale, brother; Daniel (Martha) Herrera, sisters; Concepcion De La Cruz, Dora Moreno, Sofia (Ruben) Castilla, Sr. and Hermelinda (Ed) Romero, grandchildren; Joel Joseph (Amanda Rosalyn) Vale Jr., Catherine Minerva (Ashley Christine Vena) Vale, Erica Lila Garza, Victoria Nicole Vale, Sophia Rose Vale and Lauren Lee Garza as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Affectionately known as Ema to her grandchildren, or Lela to her friends, she lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Alamo and Pharr, Texas. Eudelia was the matriarch of her family. She had a great love for her family and she was loved by so many people. If you ever visited Eudelia in her home she always made you feel welcomed as family. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Edinburg and was a faithful servant of the Lord. Eudelia spent many years working and helping support her family as a seamstress and notary public. She enjoyed traveling and loved to attend Baylor football games with her family. She also enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. She was very outgoing, loved to dance, garden, very handy around the house and actively involved in politics. She will be greatly missed by the family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a eulogy and celebration of her life at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn, Edinburg, Texas. Christian services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 9:30 AM at First Lutheran Church, 302 South Sugar Road, Edinburg, Texas with burial to follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 South Inspiration Road, Mission, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral services will be live streamed and tributes can be noted on website www.ceballos-diaz.com.
