Mr. Edward Banning Weston, 90, formerly of Terre Haute, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Piedmont Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Park Pointe Village at a later date.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 26, 1930, Ed was the son of the late E. Wallace Weston and the late Rosamond Woodbury Weston. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gretchen Nuzum Weston; his son, Edward Wallace "Chip" Weston, II; and his daughter, Rebecca Suzanne "Bicki" Weston.
Ed grew up in Dayton, OH and graduated from Denison University. He was a US Army veteran and was formerly employed by the Weston Paper and Manufacturing Co. of Terre Haute, IN. Ed and his wife of 64 years were involved in numerous community and social organizations and enjoyed dancing, skiing, playing golf, tennis and bridge and they traveled throughout the world.
Ed will be remembered for his dry wit and optimistic spirit. He would often exclaim "Tally-ho" and had a keen interest and concern for his fellow man.
The family would like to express a special note of appreciation to the staff and residents at Park Pointe Village for their love and care of Ed and Gretchen over the past nine years.
Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia (Ronald) Laporte of Lake Wylie, SC; his granddaughter, Erica (John) Deviney of Cantonment, FL; two great-grandchildren, Halay and Logan Deviney; his brother, Dr. Peter (JoAnn) Weston of Birmingham, AL; and his nephews, Tim (Rosamma) Weston of Anacortes, WA and Dan (Suzanne) Weston of Madison, AL.
