Minister Earnest James Humber III, 76, went home on 12/25/2019. Born 6/26/1943, in Tyler, TX, to the late earnest and Lucinda Ford Humber.
He gradusted from EJS High, class of 1961. He joined the Air Force- the 3973rd Combat Defense Squadron, Strategic Air Command. He retired after 36 years of service. He attended Texas College and Midwestern State, and retired after 20 years at the US Postal Service.
As a driven entrepreneur, at the age 12, he sold the Saturday Evening Post. Later, he owned a gas station, a record shop, and was a real estate agent. Earnest was an Independent Contractor for Ardyss and Tahitian Noni while forming his own media company, Big Break Records. He organized gospel musicals, concerts, appeared on gospel TV and radio series, produced albums, and managed several artists including the Proctor Singers, Barbara Cox, Dewotta Gossett, and Tammy Arterberry.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Lucinda, Manolita, earnest, Earnesa; grandchildren; sister, Mary Humber Franklin (Roger); brother, Anthony Whitmill; aunt, Acressia Conners; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held January 2, 2020.
