Earlene Florence Asaro-Bernardi, of Chesterfield Township, MI was born on March 3, 1951 in Detroit, MI, to the late Luca L. Asaro and Laverne E. Asaro (Kett). She passed peacefully at home on October 4, 2022, at the age of 71.
Earlene was a graduate of Stevenson High School - Class of 1970, proud Spelling Bee Champion, skilled softball player in her younger days and Elvis Presley’s #1 fan. She will always be the Euchre Queen and was an avid lover of Detroit sports - Lions, Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings. Earlene loved being with family, camping, bingo, fishing, traveling to places like Cancun, Mexico, Las Vegas and of course, the nearest casino.
Earlene was the Devoted Mother to Kelly (Gregory) Veilleux, Michele Bernardi and Nicholas Bernardi. She was a cherished Mimi to her grandchildren, Ashlee (Donte) Bolden, Tyler Goolsby, Raena (Michael) Powles, Joshua Veilleux, Sydnie Veilleux, Brandon Goolsby and Brody Veilleux and a loving Great-Grandmother (Mimi) to Kiaira Bolden, Donte Bolden Jr. and Lincoln Powles.
She is the eldest of ten children, survived by Linda (Spencer) Moorefield, Louis (late Mary Ann) Asaro, Diane (Ronald) Bernardi, Patsy Asaro, Deborah Asaro, Karen (Robert) Wilson, Mark (Kathleen) Asaro, Rick (Denise) Asaro and Ronald (Kelli) Asaro. Earlene was also a fabulous FurMom to Luna, and the late Toby, Bosco, Dusty and Shadow.
Earlene’s family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, October 14th, from 2:00pm - 8:00pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Sons Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 15, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to invite you to a memorial luncheon immediately following Saturday's service at Rockys Ristorante 50750 Romeo Plank Rd. Macomb, MI 48044.
