Earl gave up his fight with Cancer on Saturday, July 20th, 2024. He was born in Marlinton, WV, on May 4, 1941. Earl is survived by his wife Judy, two sons, Anthony Earl Kelley, of Hagerstown, MD, Eric W. Kelley and his wife Melissa of Martinsburg, WV., one grand-daughter, Morgan Elisabeth Kelley of Boonsboro MD, two brothers, Robert Kelley of Hillsboro, WV., Harry Kelley of Marlinton, WV, two sisters - Sylvia Smith of Marlinton, WV., and Marie Klinger of Guntersville, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents Ward and Mary Kelley and sister Maybelle Hurst. He was a graduate of Pocahontas County High School. He served in the US Army from 1963 to 1966 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He had a career as custom finish carpenter for forty years. Earl moved to Silver Spring, MD in 1962. In 1963 he met his bride Judy Van Dyke and they were married in January of 1966 and remained married for 58 years. Earl was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. Earl was an amazing carpenter, an avid reader, loved to hunt and fish and, loved to watch John Wayne movies. Earl was a faithful Christian and faithful friend and a man who spent his life always doing good deeds. Services will be held on Thursday, July 25th. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd N. Hagerstown, MD. 21742. Viewing will be at 10:00 am and funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 17636 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, MD, 21740, following the service. Family and friends are invited back to the Kelley home for refreshments. Contributions can be made to the Veteran Wounded Warriors Fund.
