Rev. Earl Ray Drummond, age 86, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at his residence.
Rev. Drummond was born in Cedartown, Georgia on July 20, 1939, son of the late John Edward "J.E." Drummond and the late Hattie Howard Drummond. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Wilkins Drummond, a great grandson, Gage Muse, and by several brothers and sisters. Prior to retirement, Rev. Drummond was a Supervisor with Sara Lee Bakery. He was licensed and ordained at New Grace Baptist Church and was a member of Farrill Baptist Church where he had served as Pastor.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Scott Drummond (Lisa) and Timothy Shawn Drummond (Tabitha); two daughters, Sharon Ann Blackwell (Marsha Welchel) and Cindy Michelle Smith (David); a sister, Elizabeth Bentley; a special friend, Mary Vaughn; five grandchildren, Amy Mines, Dustin Drummond, Cody Drummond, Trenton Drummond, and Kayla Nix; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11am in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Barry Dollar officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry McCoy officiating.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 10am until the service time.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday at 10:30am and include Dustin Drummond, Cody Drummond, Trenton Drummond, Hunter Smith, Hunter Ortwein, and Jeremy Duvall.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
