Mr. E.W. Strickland was born to the late Mr. Earlie and Mrs. Mattie Louise Strickland in Winder, Ga. January 16, 1948. Mr. E.W. as he was affectionately known, graduated from Glenwood High School in Winder. He also attended Fort Valley State University before embarking on a military career as a Senior Supply Sergeant in the United States Army. After retirement, Mr. Strickland returned home to Winder and eventually moved to Athens where he was an entrepreneur and host of a radio show. Additionally, his passion was working in mortuary science and with Veterans' organizations in Northeast, Ga. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Mr. E.W. was preceded in death by his daughter, Jayla Wiley, St. Louis, Mo. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Mrs. Pauline Armstrong Strickland, one son Kaz (Tara) Armstrong, a granddaughter, Kalyie Armstrong, a play sister Mrs. Brenda Hendricks. Host relatives and friends.
