Duane Earl Goodenough, 86, of Galien, passed away at home on February 4, 2021.
He was born on June 10, 1934 in La Porte to the late Herbert and Geraldine (Roberts) Goodenough. Later in life he proudly served in the U.S. Army. On February 10, 1979 he married the love of his life, Dorothy "Dottie" Wire. They shared a wonderful life together full of so much love and laughter. Duane spent most of his life as a sales representative selling tractors, but when he was young he was very active in 4-H and FFA. He won many awards for showing at the Berrien County Youth Fair. Duane then attended a short agriculture course at Michigan State. Later he worked for Len's Dairy Supply in New Carlisle which he ended up buying and owned for over 20 years. He was a member of the former Olive Branch Methodist Church in Galien where he was very active and loved his church family and friends. He also loved to travel with his family and always saw the good in people. He truly deserved the name "Goodenough".
Duane is survived by his loving wife of 41years, Dorothy "Dottie"; sons, David (Virginia) Goodenough, Ken (Laura) Goodenough, Ernie Roberts; daughter, Judy (Jerry) Doehrer; grandchildren, Megan (Kyle) Roth, Geoff Goodenough, Brittney (Brock Belanger) Doehrer, Caleb Doehrer, Mike Donovan, Adam (Morgan) Goodenough, Ryan Goodenough, Brandin (Adam) Danielson, Justin (Kim) Bowker, Nicole (Lee) Ashcraft; great-grandchildren, Zachary Roth, Alyssa Roth, Skylar Goodenough, Mickayla Danielson, Madalynn Danielson, Michael Danielson, Matthew Danielson, Wyatt Bowker, Kathryn Bowker, Lexie Ashcraft, Rylee Ashcraft, Chloe Ashcraft; and sister-in-law, Anne Goodenough.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Geraldine; brother, Don Goodenough; and daughter, Kathryn Bowker.
Funeral service for Duane will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Visitation will take place 2 hours prior from 11 - 1 pm.
