Dr. Jeffery Sean Walsh, age 56, of Myrtle Beach passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, May 12th, after a long battle with cancer.
Jeff was born in Summerville, SC, February 26, 1968, to John L. Walsh and Faye Winter. He graduated from Summerville High School, Clemson University, and The Medical University of South Carolina, where he earned his DMD. Jeff served as a dentist for 22 years and owned practices in West Union, SC, and Carolina Forest, Myrtle Beach.
Jeff will be remembered as a kind-hearted, patient, and incredibly generous person. He loved his family, friends, patients, and dogs. Jeff made everyone feel comfortable including his patients who often remarked that they actually enjoyed going to the dentist. He preferred to be outdoors or on the water, fishing or crabbing. Jeff was the ultimate Clemson fan almost always sporting an orange or purple Clemson hat. He loved to share a good meal, cold beer, or glass of wine with family and friends. Jeff always had a smile on his face, and even with the pain of cancer and chemotherapy, he remained positive until the end, fighting like a Tiger. He will be remembered for his infectious friendliness and good-natured humor. We are devastated that Jeff is no longer with us but forever thankful for his lasting presence in our memories and our hearts.
Jeff is preceded in death by his mother, Faye Winter, and his brother, John Walsh, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Laureen Dunlavey Walsh, and his sons, Davis and Connor Walsh; his father, John Walsh; step-mother Donna Jo Walsh; his sisters Tammy Walsh (John Gribbins), Laney Taylor (Kevin), Brandi Kincaid (Johnny), Leslie Walsh (Chuck Driggers); his father-in-law Jack Dunlavey (Carol); brother-in-law Jamey Dunlavey (Jamey); and his nieces and nephews Elizabeth, JohnRoss, and Caroline Gribbins; Estella Walsh; Brody and Landon Taylor; Peyton Fuseler; Jackson and Presley Kincaid; Ty Thomas and Lane Driggers; and many other extended family members, friends, and patients who will miss him deeply.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Agape Care Hospice, specifically Ashlee, Tim, and Terri, for their care and concern for Jeff and family until the end.
A celebration of life will be Monday, May 20th, at 4:00 p.m. at Celebration Presbyterian Church, Carolina Forest. Visitation and reception will be afterwards at the church. Jeff wished for everyone to dress casually in Clemson colors or whatever is comfortable. The service will also be lived streamed on YouTube: Celebration Presbyterian Church Myrtle Beach/The Latest from Celebration.
