Glenn Joseph Boris, MD, 79, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home in the arms of his wife, Cyndi, on September 29, 2022.
Glenn was born February 25, 1943, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Joseph A. Boris and Elmira (Rauen) Boris. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Purdue University, and Marquette Medical School (now the Medical College of Wisconsin). He completed an internship in Portland, Oregon before joining the United States Air Force and honorably serving his country in Misawa, Japan during the Vietnam War. During his time in the military, his true love of travel and adventure began.
After his years in the service, he completed a Pediatrics Residency in Indianapolis, Indiana. He moved to Texas in 1975 and had a thriving Pediatric practice in Lubbock for over 30 years. He was a beloved pediatrician who impacted many young families during his time as a caring and gifted physician. He retired from practice in 2004 to the sadness of all his patients and their families. Routinely through his retirement years, Glenn would run into families he had touched during his career. It seems everyone knew and loved the one and only Dr. Boris!
Glenn loved life - he worked hard, he played hard, but most of all, he loved with all that he had. He was always active, whether it was traveling the world on crazy adventures, or playing golf and tennis, skiing, or watching his favorite Purdue Boilermaker football and basketball teams. He shared his lifelong love of learning not only with his children and grandchildren, but also with his patients and even the lucky waitstaff at the restaurants his family frequented. He always said that education was the one thing no one could ever take away.
Loved ones include his wife of over 40 years, Cynthia (Cyndi) Boris; his daughter Kristin Raimondo, her husband Brian, and their children Preston and Sophia of Boerne, Texas; his son Kevin Boris, his wife Jessica, and their children Everett and Bronwyn of Fanwood, New Jersey; his son Jonathan Sennetti, his wife Nancy, and their children Scott and Zach of Plano, Texas; his sister Carol Pozdol, her husband Marvin of Cleveland, Ohio, and their children; and his sister Yvonne (Bonnie) Greenlaw of Michigan City, Indiana and her children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Boris; his mother Elmira Boris; his sister, Patricia Boris; his brother, Terence (Terry) Boris; his brother-in-law, John Greenlaw; and his daughter, Suzannah Sennetti.
