Dr. Gary P. Giovagnoli, 65, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina. He was born on July 16, 1955 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Anthony Giovagnoli & Anita Colussi Giovagnoli.
Along with his parents, Gary is reunited in passing with his brother, Steve Anthony Giovagnoli & uncle, Angie Giovagnoli.
Gary was a hardworking and well-educated man. He attended and received his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His skill and passion for helping people lead him to be a highly respected ENT (otolaryngologist) for over 20 years. While in practice, Dr. Gary would gladly take the time to explain and educate his patients on their health and wellbeing.
The compassionate, caring person Gary was at work, paralleled at home. Gary was a family man who relished time spent as his family and friends. He loved nature and the outdoors. Gary enjoyed camping, hiking and was proudly able to guide and lead all three of his son's Boy Scout Troops. In his free time, Gary was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking for his family, was always busy trying new crafts and was a very devout and faithful catholic. Above all else, Gary loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered his dry sense of humor, the dignity he carried, love he had for his family and passion he had for his practice.
Left to cherish Gary's memory are his beloved wife, with whom they would've celebrated 31 years of marriage on May 5th, Dr. Elizabeth A. Snoderly of Murrells Inlet; their children, Alexandra Giovagnoli of West Hollywood, CA, Dominic Giovagnoli of Charelston, SC, Dante Giovagnoli of Charleston, SC & Vincent Giovagnoli of Charleston, SC; grand-furbabies; sisters, Anne Marie Giovagnoli & Diane Giovagnoli-Broeker (Scott); sisters in-law, Lynn Snoderly, Cathy Dobyan & Rebecca Lancaster (Ryan); several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends, neighbors and patients.
