Ernest Julian Fox Jr, DVM, 79, of Georgetown, SC, passed away February 11, 2022.
Ernest was born on August 25, 1942 to Ernest Julian Fox, Sr. and Isolene Kinard Fox in Walterboro, SC. After graduating from Walterboro High School in 1959, he graduated from Clemson University and later, The University Of Georgia (1968), where he studied Veterinary Medicine. In 1968, Ernest was 1 of 6 Veterinary students in the country picked for a Small Animal Veterinary Internship at UC Davis. Following this, Ernest was an instrumental part of a research study on animal kidney transplants at Sacramento Hospital in Sacramento, California.
After graduation, he opened Westview Animal Hospital in Georgetown, SC and was beloved by many pets and pet owners for 52 years. He was the most compassionate and caring veterinarian to all his patients and was a staple in the Georgetown community.
Ernest was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Perry and Parker, and his grandchildren, and always tried his best to support them.
Ernest was also a passionate Clemson Football (well, all things Clemson) fan and hunter, and could often be found at his farm in Hemmingway when he wasn't at home.
Anyone who knew Ernest knew that he was the most loving father a family could ask for.
He is survived by his children John Perry (Desiree), and Parker Lee (Cristine), his grandchildren Tyler Jay, Branden Lee, Ryon Francis, and Ellyn Jane, and great-grand children, John Louis, Chloe Marie, and Tilly Rae, sister Marva Lackey, and dearest friend of 55 years, Janet Fox.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to All 4 Paws, 709 Petigru Dr., Pawleys Island, SC 29585.
