Dr. Benedict Richard Fedele, Jr., fondly referred to as "Rich" or "Richard", peacefully passed away on May 7, 2021 at the age of 83.
Born in Somerville, New Jersey, he met his loving and devoted wife of sixty-two years, Jean Hulse Fedele. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and continued on to his doctoral degree in dentistry at Temple University. Upon graduation, he served as a captain in the United States Air Force at MacDill Air Force base in Tampa. In 1965 he completed his tour of duty and returned home to Bound Brook, New Jersey where he began his first dental practice. However, it was his love of the ocean and warm weather that brought him back to Florida and his beloved town of Stuart. He established a legacy dental practice which is now run by his son, Mark. His patients will forever remember him as a caring, compassionate and gentle dentist.
Rich's greatest joy and passion was his family. Whatever the adventure, he would do anything to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. You would often see Richard riding around in his Cutlass convertible, or packing his family up in the motor home for a vacation. When his children were young, he would be out there playing volleyball, roller blading, boating, fishing, diving or water skiing with them and their friends. Yes, family was his complete passion and he did everything and all to be with them.
He is survived by his soulmate Jean, his five children, Ben and wife Robin, Greg and wife Rebecca, Mark and wife Dara, Elizabeth and fianc? Charles, and Jon and wife Ximena, his twelve grandchildren, Alexandra, Stella, Benny, Samantha, Emma, Gregory, Sophia, Gustavo, Kate, Isabela, Mariana, and Ethan, his sister Sylvia Bird, nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom he enjoyed being with and loved dearly.
Rich was a faithful and devout Catholic. He and his family have been parishioners of St. Joseph Church for decades. His family is most grateful and thankful for all kind thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mary's Home or a charity of your choice. A mass and celebration of life will be set at a later date.
