Douglas Edward Marlin, age 63, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on November 4, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Carol Marlin. Douglas is survived by his loving wife, Donna Marlin; his children, Sasha Anne Freeman (Evan), Lydia Ware (Steven), and Tanner Marlin (Caroline); his sisters, Suzan Smith (Brad) and Nancy Ridge (Larry); and eight cherished grandchildren, Ennsley, Liam, Ezra, Raylan, Duke, Magnolia, Willow, and Saylor.
Doug was a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, where he earned a degree in music. He was employed by ABM Industries at West Georgia University and was also the Minister of Music at Hope Fellowship Church in Cumming, Georgia, where he had a deep and meaningful impact on his community.
In lieu of flowers, Doug and Donna requested that donations be made in his memory to Hope Fellowship Church, 2300 Bethelview Rd, Ste 110-347, Cumming, GA 30040.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 South Main Street, Acworth, GA 30101. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Following the service, Douglas will be laid to rest at Providence Cemetery in Cartersville, Georgia, in a private family ceremony.
Doug will be remembered for his love of music, his devotion to his family, and his unwavering faith. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
