(As written by Doug) Douglas H. Freeman was born on March 8, 1924 in Cadiz, Kentucky to his parents, John H. and Mima T. Freeman. Doug passed away April 30, 2021 and joined his wife of 57 years, Dorothy, in heaven. Doug was the first of seven children. His siblings were Wallace, Donald, John, Barbara, Bill and Harold.
Doug leaves behind his 2 daughters, Karen Umperovitch (Greg) and Cheryl Davis (Charles undefined deceased) and son Paul (Nicole), 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, his brother, Bill, and many nieces and nephews.
Dougundefineds parents moved from Kentucky to Colorado in 1925. He attended elementary school in Grand Junction and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1942. He was a World War II veteran and served his country in North Africa, India, Burma and China with the 14th Army Air Force and Office of Strategic Services.
Doug was honorably discharged in November, 1945 and attended the University of Washington and Metropolitan Business College in Seattle. He worked 29 years with a west coast industrial and linen supply firm and another 10 years with a national truck leasing firm before retiring.
Doug was a former member of the Washington Athletic Club, Everett Kiwanis Club, and a member of the Everett Golf and Country Club for more than 26 years.
His hobbies were golfing, fishing, camping and traveling.
Dougundefineds family and friends are thankful for having him in our lives. We will remember his strong work ethic, outgoing and friendly nature, devotion to his family and his deep faith in The Lord.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2 PM, Everett Foursquare Lowell, 5218 S 2nd Avenue, Everett, WA.
A Military Committal Service will be held Monday, August 9, 11 AM at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street, Kent, WA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels undefined Homage, 5026 196th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
