Douglas Howard "Doug" Dresser, 66 died Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the home of his daughter Allisa Fifield in Bradford, VT with his family all around him.
He was born March 16, 1954 in Lebanon, NH the son of Howard E. and Betty (Boyd) Dresser. He attended school in Thetford, VT graduating in 1972 from Thetford Academy. He also majored in criminal justice at Castleton State College, where he graduated in 1976.
On July 28, 1979 he married Kathleen Erwin. They lived in West Fairlee, VT before she died in 1997 from a tragic car accident. Doug worked many years as a milkman for Billings Dairy, Idlenott Dairy and Hood. He also worked over fifteen years for Britton Lumber in Fairlee.
On March 17, 2004 he married Marilyn Couture. They lived in West Fairlee all their married life.
He was an auxiliary Vermont State Trooper for many years. He enjoyed deer hunting, spending time with his girls and grandchildren and was an "all around good guy."
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Dresser of West Fairlee, VT, two daughters, Allisa Fifield of Bradford, VT and Carmen Dresser of Athens, VT, four grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremiah, Isabella, and Joey, a brother Derrick "Rick" Dresser and a sister Diane Stone both of Thetford Center, VT and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his first wife Kathleen, he was predeceased by brother Darrell Dresser and a sister Doreen Dresser.
Due to COVID-19 there will be no public services. A private graveside service for the family will be held at a later date at the Post Mills Cemetery in Thetford, VT.
