Mr. Douglas Scott Baker, 68, of Monroe, NC went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2021 in Matthews, NC.
Scott was born on June 20, 1952 in Charlotte, NC to the late P. Ney Baker and Wilma Lee Bennett Baker. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a dedicated deacon for over 30 years. He was also a poultry farmer for all of his life. Scott admired classic cars and was an avid coin enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, especially surf fishing. He was in the Army National Guard. Scott is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Eunice Baker of Monroe, NC; sons, Daniel Baker (Sara) of Monroe, NC and Adam Baker (Becky) of Lancaster, SC; daughter, Sharon Jones (Jason) of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Patrick Douglas Baker, Olivia Ann Baker and Reilly Elizabeth Jones all of Monroe, NC; lifelong friends, Ray and Patty Funderburk of Pageland, SC; righthand man and farm manager, AJ Novitsky and brother, Kenneth Baker (Grace) of Rock Hill, SC.Due to COVID 19, the family asks that everyone that attends the funeral to please wear a mask and keep in mind social distancing rules. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mack Mullis officiating. Burial to follow at the Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the Graveside Service in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, March 14, 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 309, Pageland, SC 29728.
